I have to appologize for my El Cheapo scanner, which has distorted the color towards red, reduced luster and produced a strong side-light. I've tried to edit the images to look more realistic with very limited success. Trust me: the coin is essentially white with a very light yellow patina and, on the obverse, some light gold toning at the edges. The scanner renders the mirror-like proof surface almost black and the plastic makes it look scuffed-up.
